More than 10 families slept in the cold for the second night on Saturday after their houses were razed in Remba Island in Suba, Homa Bay county. The fire, whose cause remains unknown, gutted more than 20 houses and nine shops belonging to the families. Remba Island beach management unit chairman Okoth Mamra said the fire broke out at 12:30am on Saturday. Yesterday, Homa Bay beach management unit chairman Edward Oremo said the affected families were suffering in the cold. Majority still sleep in the cold,” Oremo said.
