JOHOR BARU: The magistrate’s court here has rejected the remand request by the police against two men for allegedly insulting Islam in relation to the death of PAS spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din on social media. "The magistrate has denied the request from the police on remanding the two suspects and they will be freed. Dr Haron, 76, passed away due to heart complications at a hospital in the United States on Friday. Let there be peace” soon after Dr Haron’s passing. PAS Youth has since lodged a police report in Kuala Lumpur urging Ooi to apologise to Dr Haron’s family, while DAP had distanced itself from the comment.
