PETALING JAYA: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has expressed his deepest condolences to the families of victims who perished in a fire at Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tahfiz. A pre-dawn fire broke out at the religious school in Jalan Datuk Keramat on Thursday, killing 21 students and two teachers. “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives," Sultan Ibrahim said in a statement on Facebook. Local authorities must take action to close down any premises found operating illegally," said Sultan Ibrahim. His said all concerned must take safety seriously to ensure a tragedy like this does not occur in Johor.
