Released from Dhaka in April, suspected militant gets arrested in Delhi


Indian police have arrested suspected al Qaeda key recruiter from Delhi. Twenty-eight-year-old Bangladeshi British national Samiun Rahman was arrested from Vikas Marg in east Delhi on Sunday, reports the Times of India. According to the report, Saimun was allegedly setting up base in Delhi, Mizoram and Manipur to radicalise and recruit young Muslims to wage a war against India and Myanmar. Quoting the police, Times of India report said Saimun was in touch with top Qaeda and al-Nusra commanders through messaging app called ‘protective text’. Deputy Commissioner Pramod said a case was filed against the arrestee under sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 2008 and Arms Act.
