Business News of Tuesday, 13 January 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has urged spare parts dealers at Abossey Okai to further reduce the prices of their goods in line with Ghana’s improving economic conditions. She explained that the sustained appreciation of the cedi has eased foreign exchange pressures on imports, creating room for downward price adjustments. The Minister also highlighted the removal of the COVID-19 levy and strengthened fiscal measures as key government interventions aimed at reducing the burden on businesses. Speaking after an engagement with spare parts dealers in Accra on Monday, January 12, 2026, Ofosu-Adjare said; “In fairness, about 80% of the people I spoke to have cut prices, and drivers here confirm it. She expressed optimism that prices will continue to decline, stressing that the removal of the COVID levy will naturally reduce import duties.
