Share TweetBy Myrna VelascoA red alert has been raised warning electricity consumers in the Luzon grid of rolling brownouts, including the franchise area of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), based on the notice sent by system operator National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). The system operator advised of manual load dropping or rolling brownouts in areas on the hours when there is no power reserve in the system. The Luzon grid will be on yellow alert at 10:00 am; 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.; 5:00 p.m.; 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The Department of Energy (DoE) assured last week that power supply will be enough without mentioning the worsening condition of the grid.
