It was a strange feeling to look at the NHL standings on Friday morning and see the Maple Leafs at the very top and the Detroit Red Wings at the very bottom. U.S. junior star Jack Hughes could be the light at the end of a very short tunnel for the Detroit Red Wings. Neither brother is big or strapping, but they are remarkably skilled, and perfect fits for the NHL at this time. If they can, their stay on the bottom rungs of the NHL standings could be brief. The sooner that happens, the sooner the NHL will have one of its crucial franchises back on top again.
