Red Thursday Movement mounts pressure on Uhuru to resign over corruption

Pressure is mounting for President Uhuru Kenyatta to act on corruption or leave office. ‘Red Thursday Peoples Movement Against Corruption’ - a lobby formed to force Uhuru to resign over failure to curb corruption - held its second weekly demonstration on Thursday in Mombasa. The movement is made up of Haki Africa, Reach Out Center, Angaza Network, Coast Women in Development and World Grace. They singled out key suspect in the Sh1.6 billion NYS theft Josphine Kabura who admitted to carrying millions worth of cash from the fund in bags. They said they will organise mass protests until the August 8, 2017 general election for Uhuru to be removed from power.
