Otago Boys' Jacob Waide added over a metre to the under-14 boys shot put mark with a throw of 13.57m. Otago Boys' George Hamilton's 9min 35.54sec in the under-14 boys 3000m was equally impressive, breaking the record by seven seconds. In the under-15 girls 400m, Jordan Evans-Toba of Otago Girls' High School ran 59.26sec to break the old record of 60.88sec.
