LOS ANGELES (AP) " New York real estate heir Robert Durst has made his long-awaited arrival in California to face charges of killing a friend 16 years ago. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office says Durst was locked up in a county jail Friday. His attorney Dick DeGuerin (duh-GEHR'-in) has said Durst is eager to get to California and prove he didn't kill Berman. Durst, already well-known in New York, became a national name when HBO aired a documentary about him and suspicions of several alleged crimes in 2015. In April, Durst pleaded guilty in New Orleans to a federal weapons charge and got seven years in prison and had been serving time in Indiana.
