Bhadra GogoiDimapur: Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday said the government machinery has been put on high alert and possible measures and preparedness exercises have been initiated to meet the challenges caused by heavy rain across the state. In a release, Rio said appropriate measures have been taken to ease the difficulties of people while the administration, police and other agencies, including the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, are monitoring the situation and necessary interventions are being carried out. The chief minister appealed for cooperation and joint efforts from all sections of society. Stating that landslides and floods have disrupted communication, Rio extended condolences to those families who have lost lives. It is crucial that we come together as a family and face the difficulties jointly under a spirit of oneness," the chief minister added.
