He earned a nomination in the category with his bounce song “Dagomba Girl” which features Mugeez of R2Bees fame. Maccasio faces stiff competition from controversial dancehall musician Shatta Wale, afro-dancehall star and BET Award-winner Stonebwoy and MOBO Award-winner Samini in the category. Released in January 2018, “Dagomba Girl” was one of the early hit songs that drove fans crazy. He won the “Breakthrough Artiste of the Year” award at 3Music Awards 2018 and “Promising Artiste of the Year” at Ghana Music Awards South Africa 2018.
