Masud Rana, one of the masterminds of a communal attack on houses belonging to the Hindus in Rangpur’s Thakurpara village, has made a confessional statement before a Rangpur court, admitting his involvement in the incident. A member of Rangpur sadar upazila unit BNP, Masud gave his confessional statement before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Ariful Islam under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedures on Sunday afternoon. In his statement, he admitted that he was directly involved in the planning of the attack, said Sub-inspector Mohammad Ali. The same group of people formed another human chain at Paglapir on November 10, as part of their plan to rally participants of the human chain towards Thakurpara.
