KARACHI: Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Muhammad Saeed on Tuesday said that noticeably positive results have come out of the Karachi operation. Speaking during a visit to Bahria University Karachi campus, he said that the improved peace situation of the metropolis bore testimony to the achievement of positive results from the operation. Earlier, the interior ministry had issued a notification declaring a 90-day extension in the Rangers’ operation in Karachi following the request of Sindh government. The Rangers were allowed to carry out arrests and raids under the special powers allowed to it in the Karachi operation which began in 2011. The Rangers and Counter-Terrorism Department conducted a raid earlier this year in October and killed the chief of terrorist outfit Ansarul Shariah.
