Deadly, rampant gun violence is again under the spotlight in Congress. Opening a House hearing, New York Democrat Carolyn Maloney said the “evil of gun violence” is shattering communities. She argued the gun industry has gotten rich flooding the nation with deadly firearms and assuming no responsibility for the consequences. Kentucky Republican James Comer accused Democrats of targeting lawful gun owners. The lawmakers’ comments came ahead of testimony by some firearms industry executives.
