THE National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has warned beneficiaries of the recent rice distribution in some parts of the North to verify the source and content of their Ramadan largesse. The warning was contained in a statement by Tinubu’s Media Office, signed by his aide, Mr. Tunde Rahman, and made available to The PUNCH. Though Tinubu had since denied being behind the largesse to the poor, he said on Sunday that the poor should be left alone if the intention of the gifts was to fight him (Tinubu). However, Asiwaju is gratified that those who support him also have this abiding concern for the welfare of those in need. However, they have no right to undermine humanitarian efforts providing needed food to the poor or otherwise victimise them.
