Two arrested in Kano over killer drink distribution


THE Kano State office of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control on Sunday said it had arrested some suspects, adding that two persons were directly implicated in the distribution of Dan Tsami, the killer juice in the state. The NAFDAC Coordinator in Kano, Dr Mohamed Shaba, in a terse press statement made available to The PUNCH disclosed that stakeholders had worked collaboratively to create public awareness on the consumption of dangerous, which might be mistaken for something else. The Kano State Executive Secretary, Primary Health Development Authority, Dr Hussain Tijjani, who confirm this to The PUNCH in Kano on Sunday, said, “On the analysis report (of NAFDAC), the chemical identified is hydroxylamine sulphate. The PUNCH on Saturday visited the state Infectious Disease Hospital, where some of the victims were rushed to for medical attention.
