Ram Gopal Varma has made an announcement about the third film in the Sarkar franchise, which began in 2005. The film will not have Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who were expected to take the franchise forward after 2008's Sarkar Raj. He promises the scale of the third film will be bigger than the first two films and will be more intense. The director is currently shooting Rai, with Vivek Oberoi based on the life of gangster Muthappa Rai.
