In 1976, a district court in Rajasthan’s Nagaur issued a warrant against Motilal Nai for selling sweets made from adulterated milk. On the run since then, Nai, now 65, was nabbed by police on Tuesday and produced before a court, only to be let off with a fine of Rs 100. The court took the lenient approach considering Nai’s old age. “He fled to Andhra Pradesh after the warrant was issued against him and opened a tea shop there. A team of the health department had collected samples of sweets and milk from Nai’s shop in 1976.
