Jaipur/New Delhi: The Rajasthan government lacks the manpower to pre-empt "every situation everywhere", state home minister Gulab Chand Kataria has said following allegations that cow vigilantes killed a man in Alwar district over the weekend. A dairy farmer, Pehlu Khan, was lynched by suspected cow vigilantes in Alwar in April while transporting cattle but the police later exonerated the six men he had accused in his dying declaration. Following a complaint from Umar's family, an FIR has been registered against unidentified people for murder, attempt to murder and causing disappearance of evidence. Minister Kataria said he hoped the case would be cracked soon and promised strict action against the killers irrespective of their religion. The CPM politburo has alleged that "Rajasthan police registered a case against the victims but allowed the vigilantes (to) go scot-free".
