I am sure, like me, many of you spent the weekend celebrating the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Hundreds of thousands of people from every corner of our isles, and further afield, came together to celebrate the union of an Englishman and an American woman. Thousands more flew union flags and lined the streets with bunting up and down the country. These celebrations serve as a timely reminder of the shared values, purpose, and identity of our United Kingdom. 100 years ago we became the Conservative and Unionist Party, and the union remains a core part of our identity today.
