Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said the presence of southwesterly surface wind flow is a sign that the onset of rainy season could soon be declared. As of Tuesday, he said the criteria for the declaration of the official onset of rainy season have not been satisfied yet. However, PAGASA is expecting that the onset of rainy season this year will still fall within the normal period between the second half of May and first half of June.
