Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said implementation of the national ID system was discussed during President Duterte’s meeting with the Cabinet in Malacañang last Monday. In August 2018, President Dutete signed into law the national ID system that will harmonize and integrate several government IDs. The national ID system aims to good governance, enhanced governmental transactions, and promote a better environment for trade and commerce.
