Event director Terry Long throws some orange colour at runners during the 2018 event. A cloud of colour will once again appear over New Plymouth's Coastal Walkway in April with the return of the Mitre 10 Rainbow Run. Event director Terry Long said every year the event was getting bigger, "the smiles broader and the laughter more contagious". There will be spot prizes from Mitre 10 and the notorious mass colour throw to end the run, he said. Early bird family tickets are discounted to $50 (usually $70) and include two adults and two children.
