NewsRailway trade unions have postponed the island-wide strike which was scheduled to be launched from midnight yesterday (8). Trade unions last evening, decided to temporarily postpone their strike action until 12 noon today (9). The decision was taken following a request made by the Government on the grounds that the issues of railway workers will be taken up at today's Cabinet meeting. However, if a satisfactory solution cannot be found by 12 noon, unions insist that they will go ahead with their planned strike then.
