Since her release from police custody after she was charged for hate speech, Raila has described Jumwa as Mekatilili. Mining CS Dan Kazungu has launched a scathing attack on Cord leader Raila Odinga for equating Malindi woman representative Aisha Jumwa to freedom fighter Mekatilili wa Menza. But yesterday, the CS said being locked up in a police station is not enough for Jumwa to be compared to Mekatilili. "She chooses to take advantage of the poor and ignorant rural women in Malindi to further her selfish ambitions." Kazungu said while Mekatilili was jailed in a Kisii prison but fled and walked all the way to Malindi – covering more than 1,000km – Jumwa was remanded for three days for hate speech.
