Two carriages of the Teesta Express, including the engine, went off the rails in the Muladuli area of Ishwardi Upazila around 1:30am on Saturday, said Ishwardi GRP Police Station SI Imran Hossain. The accident occurred as the Teesta express was on its way from Khulna to Dhaka and has halted train service to the north and south, said Hossain. “A rescue train from Paksey is headed to the scene.”The cause of the accident has yet to be determined, SI Hossain added.
