In Modi ji's Gujarat, we are being beaten and trampled daily, says the Congress vice-presidentCongress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, after meeting Dalit victims who were flogged by cow vigilante group in Gujarat, slammed the BJP government saying "weaker sections are suppressed and crushed in Modi Ji's Gujarat." Mr. Gandhi, who first landed in Diu first went to Mota Samadhiyala village to meet the family members of the victims. He also brought up Hyderabad University student Rohith Vemula's suicide, Mr. Gandhi said, "weaker sections have no voice or their voice is suppressed under Modi ji." Gujarat Congress announced Rs five lakh assistance to the victims and said the party would ensure that they get get justice. Mr. Gandhi said it was a flight between "two ideologies, one representing Gandhiji, Sardar Patel, Nehru Ji and Dr Ambedkar against the ideology of RSS, Golwalkar and Modi Ji."
