One factory worker told me they all clock in together using the same touchpad, share changing rooms and have to pass each other in narrow corridors. And a pick worker told me he was sharing space with others all day. The lowest paid, most exploited workers are now seeing a new level of exploitation by those profiteering out of them. They risk travelling to work, are exposed to risks all day and then return to their families and expose them too. When we look back at this crisis, unless things change, I fear we’ll see coronavirus was most prevalent amongst the poorest.
