KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price of RON95 petrol has been cumulatively reduced by five sen since the weekly fuel pricing mechanism was implemented in April this year. Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Deputy Minister Datuk Henry Sum Agong said RON95 prices had dropped 15 times with a total value of 87 sen since April. "RON95 prices increment occurred 20 times with a total rise of 82 sen."This means that the retail price for RON95 is lower by 5 sen since the weekly pricing is introduced," he said during question and answer session in Dewan Negara today. He was responding to a question from Senator Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin which had asked the ministry to state whether the weekly petrol and diesel fuel pricing mechanisms were effective for the consumers when the price comparison showed more increases than drop.
