Map of ChittagongRMG workers were demanding their due wages while CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers sought relief goodsThe workers of an RMG factory have taken to the streets for outstanding wages while the CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers have demonstrated demanding relief goods in Chittagong city. The agitating apparel workers complained that they were compelled to protest as their wages for March have remained outstanding. Sadip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Double Mooring police station told Dhaka Tribune that factory authorities have assured the workers they will get paid by April 28. Meanwhile, several hundred CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers also staged demonstrations at the Boropool area under Halishahar police station in the city, according to the police. The CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers said they were struggling to make a living because of the shutdown in the city to contain coronavirus.
