Quezon’ s LNG power plant confronts transmission problemPagbilao, Quezon — The country’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) power plant facility in Barangay Ibabang Polo, here, which is expected to operate soon, is now confronted with a serious problems, it was learned yesterday. EWC’s original plan for its transmission line arrangement involved the construction of a 400-meter transmission line to cut-in to an existing 230KV Pagbilao transmission line owned by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), said Rodriguez. The LNG power plant is one of the highly-anticipated energy projects in the country as it is supposed to signal a new direction for clean energy features. Former Quezon Governor Eduardo Rodriguez, Energy World Corporation (EWC) country manager, said transmission arrangements with related government agencies have been the principal cause of delay in the full operation of the plant facilities. The setback has affected funding since the settlement of such issues is a requirement for local banks.
