Consultation on proposed changes to speed limits in the Queenstown Lakes District has been extended. The new Speed Limit Bylaw 2019 would reduce several speed limits across the district, and make some temporary reductions permanent. Background information has been clarified, and the online submission form has been changed to allow people to share their views to individual speed limit proposals, rather thanfor the entire group of proposed changes. Two additional drop-in sessions are also planned for April 29 in Wanaka, and April 30 in Queenstown. Following consultation, hearings will be held in Wanaka on June 5 and in Queenstown on June 6 for those wishing to speak in support of their submission.
