Queensland couple John and Karen David transform Tamaree shed into bohemian bungalow

AdvertisementCreative house flippers have transformed a 'glorified shed' into a dreamy bohemian bungalow that has earned a loyal following on social media. John and Karen David bought the shack in Tamaree near Gympie, 178km north of Brisbane, for $170,000 in October 2020 and gave it a highly 'Instagrammable' makeover through their construction company, Hampton Home Builders. Interior designer Karen told Daily Mail Australia they intended to give the bungalow little more than a 'splash of paint', but fell in love with it after discovering 'hidden treasures' tucked inside. The renovations cost 'about double' what the Davids paid for the property, Karen revealed, but the end result packs some serious wow factor. That style is best evidenced in the Tamaree shack in the raised whitewashed verandah that wraps around the rear.
