more-inThe State government has decided to enhance the quantum of donations by individuals for construction of different categories of schools. Donations for the construction of upper primary schools in the form of land/building/money have been revised upwards to ₹50 lakh in place of the existing ₹7.5 lakh and for high schools from ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore. The government has also made changes in the policy of naming the school after the donor or in any name proposed by him/her. In respect of school names, there were number of proposals received for change in school names in the name of donors. But there was resistance from the community/public to change names of reputed old schools in the name of donors.
