Quake homes unoccupied as social housing need in Christchurch skyrockets


Seventeen temporary houses are sitting empty at a suburban Christchurch park while the need for social housing in the city skyrockets. The houses in Linwood Park are owned by the Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust (OCHT), which says government legislation is preventing it from renting the homes for social housing before they are removed permanently.
