A homeless Hamilton man who smoked synthetics and went on a violent rampage asked his victims to get down and put their teeth on the kerb of the road "to see if they had the balls to trust him". It was at 12.10am that morning when Delaney encountered his first victims, a couple who were walking on Anzac Parade. "This is my block," Delaney yelled at the man, and then told him six times to put his teeth on the kerb. Then he pulled the victim around and put his head near the kerb, and told him again to bite the kerb. He told them he wanted his victims to put their teeth on the kerb "to see if they had the balls to trust him".
