Puspakom: More than half of private vehicles fail to meet necessary standards - Nation

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Some 51% of private-owned vehicles that undergo inspections do not meet the necessary standards set by the Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom). "Emissions that do not follow Environment Department standards will also cause air pollution,” the statement read. In conjunction with Hari Raya, Puspakom is organising a free Voluntary Vehicle Inspection campaign until June 9 at 54 Puspakom vehicle inspection centres nationwide, except in Shah Alam, Pasir Gudang and Lahad Datu, which will concentrate on heavy vehicles only. The 10-day campaign will provide an opportunity for vehicle owners to take the free car inspection as the test cost of RM50 will be waived during the campaign. Further information on the free inspection, visit www.puspakom.com.my or its Facebook page.
