DETROIT—The long layoff seemed to bother the Purdue Boilermakers more than the opposition. In the second half, Purdue 7-foot-2 centre Isaac Haas injured his right elbow after a hard fall to the floor. He hit a three-pointer with 14:27 left in the second half giving Purdue a 46-26 lead. Senior guard Dakota Matthias hit his first three-pointer of the game with 12:53 left in the second half to give Purdue a 52-27 lead.
