Pupils queue up for correct results

Thousands of students from the University of Mumbai had to run from pillar to post on Wednesday to provide ‘proof’ that they wrote an exam in which they were wrongly marked absent. Officials in the University revealed that several students were marked absent due to a technical error in the result processing system which categorised them in the absent lot when their results were kept in reserve. “I was marked absent in one of the semester 6 papers despite attending the exam. I was asked to furnish proof of my attendance but after doing so, officials said my result was reserved due to a technical issue. Dr Devanand Shinde, University in-charge Vice Chancellor said the results of such students would be immediately rectified.
