Punjab govt condemns controversial amendment to save party position

After demanding to remove those responsible for Khatm-e-Nabuwwat amendment from the federal cabinet, Punjab government has once again condemned the controversial amendment to save its party position in the province. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif also lauded former federal law minister Zaid Hamid for reversing the controversial amendment immediately whereas Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has repeatedly stated that Hamid was not at fault and hence should not step down. Punjab PML-N Spokesman Malik Muhammad Ahmad then denounced the controversial bill and reiterated Punjab CM’s position on the matter. The party spokesperson went on to say that the Punjab law minister would have also stepped down if he was found culpable. Shehbaz Sharif did not reaffirm his own demand for Hamid’s resignation in media talks.
