ISLAMABAD: Talking to a delegation of the Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan, President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said that the government would extend its full cooperation for the establishment of a centre of excellence for eye-related diseases, leading to the enhancement of ophthalmologists’ capacities. The delegation, calling upon the president at Aiwan-e-Saddar, was led by Professor Zia-ul-Islam and included, Dr Mahfooz Hussain, Professor Shahid Wahab, Professor Muhammad Daud Khan, Professor Muhammad Mazhar Qayyum, Professor Mazhar Ishaq, Professor Imtiaz Ali Shah and other officials. He urged upon the private sector to mobilise for the establishment of this centre. Appreciating the services of the ophthalmological society, the president said that it was playing an important role in increasing the number of ophthalmologists and in treating eye-related diseases in the country. The delegation thanked the president for his keen interest in the affairs of the society.
