Puhoi homestead farewelled after 120 years in same family

Oakdale in Puhoi, north of Auckland, is a grand old homestead and farm that have been in the Straka family since 'Grandad' built the house in the late 1800s. How do you say goodbye to a family home after 120 years? That's something the Straka family will have to work through, possibly as soon as next week. Peter Straka is the grandson of Charles Straka, who developed the grazing farm and built the house. "It's time for them to leave and provide an opportunity for another family to make their own legacy."
