Alamgir Tipu, president of a defunct committee of CU Chhatra League and a prime suspect of the case, led the strike. Former assistant proctor Anwar arrived in court on Monday after the six-week interim bail granted to him expired. He pleaded for a permanent bail, but the court rejected the plea and ordered him to be detained in jail. Last year on Nov 24, Diaz’s family rejected the autopsy report and started a case with a Chittagong court accusing 10 people of the murder. The case filed by Diaz’s mother Jaheda Amin Chowdhury at a senior judicial magistrate's court accused 10 including Anwar Hossain and Alamgir Tipu.
