Bangladesh and Turkey agreed to deepen economic ties and to work together to help bring about a political solution to the Rohingya crisis. “Bangladesh is a dynamic nation with nearly 7% growth over the past few years,” Binali Yildirim said after meeting with Sheikh Hasina. On Tuesday, the Turkish prime minister said he “highly appreciated” Hasina’s diplomacy over the Rohingya issue, and the support shown by Bangladesh to the displaced people. The two leaders also discussed how Turkey can help Bangladesh to meet its Vision 2021 target. President Hamid expressed his gratitude to Turkey for providing heartfelt support to the issue of the Rohingyas who took shelter in Bangladesh territory in recent times.
