Protesters agree to end Winnipeg blockade after city issues order

CBC News published this video item, entitled “Protesters agree to end Winnipeg blockade after city issues order” – below is their description. Protesters blocking the entrance to Brady Road landfill have agreed to end their blockade after the city issued an order for them to vacate by Monday. In an email sent to Mayor Scott Gillingham and city councillors, Winnipeg’s chief administrative officer, Michael Jack, said he issued the order because the blockade risked the health and safety of Winnipeg’s citizens. Protesters began the blockade in response to the Manitoba government announcing it would not support a search at the Prairie Green landfill north of Winnipeg for the remains of two Indigenous women.
