Projects: Reps probe alleged discrimination against Rivers, others


THE House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the alleged exclusion of states, especially Rivers, from projects executed with credit facilities secured by the Federal Government from the World Bank and other global and continental institutions. A member of the House from Rivers, Mr Solomon Bob, had alleged at the plenary on Wednesday that other states of the federation had benefitted from the loans except his state. Meanwhile, the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus has described the loans being requested by the President, Major General Muhammadu (retd. They said this in a statement on Wednesday, titled, ‘Rivers NASS caucus kicks against Buhari’s loans, declaring it unconstitutional, discriminatory’. The statement was signed by their caucus leaders, Senator George Sekibo and Kingsley Chinda.
