Pre-tax profits at the Co Mayo Botox producer, Allergan Pharmaceuticals Ireland, rose last year by 24 per cent to $232.5 million (€196.3 million). Revenues rose by 9 per cent from $2.96 billion (€2.5 billion) to $3.22 billion (€2.7 billion) in the 12 months to the end of December last, its annual report said. Westport is Allergan’s only Botox manufacturing facility across its global network and is one of the group’s largest production sites. Last year, Abbvie announced its $63 billion purchase of the Allergan group and the deal was completed this year. In January of this year, Allergan Pharmaceuticals Ireland acquired the economic rights to Botox and other products from a connected company for $1 billion.
