All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday visited the family of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan V.V. Accompanied by AICC general secretary K.C. Balkrishnan, MLA, she reached the house of Vasanthakumar at Vazhakkandy Kuruma tribal hamlet at Mukkamkunnu, near Thrikkaipetta, in Wayanad around 2.50 p.m. and spent about 30 minutes there. Ms. Gandhi left the hamlet after having food along with the family members. Earlier Congress president Rahul Gandhi had planned to visit the family a few weeks ago but the Special Protection Group (SPG) denied permission in the wake of Maoist presence in the area.
