The issue of Congress members defecting to BJP before last the Rajya Sabha polls in Gujarat resonated in Gujarat assembly on Tuesday. The debate on Private University Amendment Bill was going on in assembly, in which education department tabled the bill to pass from house suggesting giving the status of private university to the institution run by politician Balwantsinh Rajput. Rajput was Congress leader but defected to BJP just before Rajya Sabha polls. Congress members raised the issue again and again by using different words, although the speaker stopped them. The government brought this bill to form Gokul Global University in Sidhpur town and that belongs to BJP leader Balwantsinh Rajput.
